Attention Parents: Volunteer Interest Survey
Volunteers are a key part of the success of our students in school. Volunteers’ helping out in all areas of our school only accelerates these successes. Taking a few moments to fill out this survey will allow us to better serve our students.

Swine Flu Vaccination Consent Forms

The parent consent form that went home last week from the health department has an incorrect phone number listed for those having questions about the vaccine. The health department has apologized for the error. The contact person is Sylvia Byrd @ 251-7319, Ms. Byrd said she would be glad to field any calls. As of now, Dr. Kirsch at the health department said there are not enough vaccinations to supply the DOH for their clinics and they do not know when they will start the schools program. However parents who desire the nasal spray are advised to go to one of the local clinics ASAP. Times and locations can be found on the web @ www.myflusafety.com and click on clinic locations.
Message from Dr. Wicker About Regarding Swine Flu

Dear Parents and Families,

As we enter the flu season, want to share this important information with you and let you know what we are doing at school to help prevent the spread of the flu.

All teachers are being asked to provide hand sanitizing for students three times each day, morning, mid-day and afternoon. We are also participating in regular conference call updates from the Florida Department of Education on the status of illness in the area as well as recommended precautions.

I have provided some important suggestions for parents below. Please help us control the spread of the flu at school by monitoring your child(ren) closely for the next several months and responding accordingly.

We are all in this together and want everyone to stay healthy!

Please contact our School Nurses, Shirl Streukens or Rob Mayewski, at 245-3990.

Thank you,

Dr. Lynn Wicker

TO THE PARENTS OF THE FSUS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:

As you may already know, Dr. Karen Randolph, FSU College of Social Work, is conducting a study about parent involvement in preventing underage drinking among middle school students. A few weeks ago, she mailed a questionnaire to you seeking your views on underage drinking. THANK YOU to those of you who have completed and returned the questionnaire. If you have not completed your survey yet, please do so as soon as you are able. Your input is very valuable because it will help Dr. Randolph understand how to help parents in preventing underage drinking among their children.

If you did not receive a questionnaire, or it was misplaced, please contact Dr. Randolph at (850) 644-9745 or krandolp@fsu.edu and she will get another one to you immediately.
