FSUS Performing Arts
Band
The band is a performing wind ensemble made up of woodwinds, brass and percussion. The Goals of the Florida State University Schools Band Program are based on the concept that music is an essential part of life, integral in the development of the whole person, and vital for the advancement of civilization. Quality of life is improved by physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth experiences through meaningful sequential study of music.
Chorus
Music is the expression of one's experience, thought, and wisdom. Choral music allows us to use the instrument wenever leave behind. Eric Anderson wrote that it is only through introducing great literature, drama and music, that we open up the possibilities that lie within the human spirit-enable them to see visions and dream dreams. The aims of the FSUS choral program include having students that enjoy and appreciate music their entire lives.
